Benjamin was born and raised in Abbotsford, BC — attending local schools from Kindergarten through Grade 12. Raised by his single mother, Michelle, he learned early the values of hard work, resilience, compassion, and giving back. He experienced firsthand how educators, coaches, and community mentors can shape a young person's life, sparking a lifelong commitment to inclusive, supportive schools.

After high school, Benjamin attended UFV while working full-time at McDonald's — balancing work, school, and leadership responsibilities. Through the Archways to Opportunity education program, he earned a Bachelor of Integrated Studies with a communications minor, becoming the first person in his family to graduate with a university degree.

What started as a part-time job grew into a meaningful career centred on people development and mentorship. Benjamin currently oversees recruitment, training, employee engagement, and community partnerships across multiple McDonald's restaurants in Abbotsford and Aldergrove. He has helped create pathways for young people entering the workforce and supported inclusive hiring initiatives throughout the Fraser Valley.

Benjamin serves on the Board of Directors for Archway Community Services and is a member of the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce's CYPE Council. He has supported Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon, Canuck Place, Cyrus Centre, Foundry Abbotsford, and numerous local youth programs — demonstrating authentic leadership that shows up even when it's inconvenient.
